Welcome to the 7 Day Lazy Challenge where we set up our week ahead time to wake up at 5 am to allow us 30 minutes of building our skills for 7 days! We are on Day 5.
Here is what I worked on:

I’m really enjoying the graphite drawing with the colored pencil bit of cloth. I think it looks kind of cool.
So, I’ve heard of people in silent prayer or meditation who get these very dark and negative feelings while they’re doing so. These are manifestations of things we’ve been struggling with that we are needing to work through.
I view art making as a form of meditation, and it’s especially been a form of prayer lately since my Faith was revitalized. Normally it calms and relaxes me, but this morning, not so much. For some reason, I kept thinking back to a couple girls in high school who wronged me, and I couldn’t stop feeling this uncontrollable rage. What made this even more aggravating was that high school was almost 10 years ago for me, so I had no idea why I was getting so angry.
These memories just bubbled back for no apparent reason. Once I drew the girl’s lip corners into a smile, those feelings went away. I’m not sure the significance of that, or even if there is any (maybe the calming power of happy art?), but it was interesting and I thought worth sharing.
Also, look at my forest! Unfortunately, the timer was on silent, so I ended up drawing 15 minutes longer than I planned to (if I had set the timer for 45 minutes, it would have been a cooler species of tree). It is fun to see it grow.
